Add export project option

Anonymous 4 years ago • updated by Jona (Co-Founder & Lead Developer) 8 months ago 20

Need to save projects as my device is smashed and will be replaced. Is this possible at the time being? Basically like for like insurance will swap my device rather than repair it. So I really need to save the projects I have already begun. Hope there is a solution to save my work from being a waste of time :-)

We have just release FlipaClip v1.4.2 which now provides the option to share projects! :)
Any news on this guys. My galaxy note2 still works but has a shattered screen. I cant draw with it. Really need a save n back up before I replace my phablet.

Hey thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we don't have a way to export a project. However, we do understand this is very important feature and we are already planning it.
Any timescale  available? Need to decide what to do... lose 6 months work or wait. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
Hey, we really don't want you to loose your work. We understand how horrible it is to work on a project and just loose it. I have to be honest with you, this backup feature will come but it might take a month until you see it. It takes this long since we are already in the middle of working on other new features. But again we know that a way to save and export a project to another device is very important for this type of app.

PS not really exporting I'm  after, just a project file that any "flipaclip" enabled device  can open.
Not sure if it is an option, but you could export each screen (screen capture) and put it together on your computer with another software.
Or wait till the flipaclip team implements "import images feature"

Yes, I understand. If you really need to get to the actual images you could use a file explorer and copy the images. The images will not necessarily be numbered in the correct order and some frame numbers might be skipped.

Project images are located under
sdcard/Android/data/com.vblast.flipaclip/files/projects/

Image file name
f#_#.png -> The first # is the frame number and the second is the layer number.
Hey, no promises, but I have started looking into this. It might be possible that I can provide this feature on the next update. At the least will be in beta state but should help hopefully. :)
That is good news. And thanks Jona for the work around. I will wait for the un promised update with fingers crossed. Putting projects on hold feels better than losing them so I shall put up with my damaged device a while longer. Thanks for the feedback (AnimationChris)

I just completed implementing the feature! :) It works like a charm! We are putting together other changes and hopefully in the next few days we can release a new version with this feature.

This feature will be so great.  I have a ton of animation files on my galaxy 10.1 note and I just picked up a galaxy note 4.  The screen resolution is so awesome I want to finish my animations on the note 4.  So hopefully I can simply open up project files that were created on my other device.  Thanks for your attention to this issue.  I've played with EVERY animation app out there and flipaclip is by far the best

I am just starting in with the app, and have really liked it's simplicity.  But I really need to move projects from device to device.  Was about to buy the unlocked version, but not quite yet as this is a game changer.  Once it happens, I am completely on board.  Love the UI and speed.  Clean layout, but need the portability.

Any news on this save file feature? Santa will bring me a shiny new device to continue my flipaclip projects on tomorrow.... if I've been a good boy :-)
:) We got a bit delayed with the holidays. My developer partner went out on a trip and this made things a little harder. The export feature is complete we are just waiting for one particular large feature to be completed.

hi, if there's a way to actually exporting data, could you by any chance leave a video tutorial or something like that?

just in case :)

Hey, please check this post about exporting projects. A video tutorial would be nice.
