Hey guys! Here is a status update:

The super hard and complicated programing code for audio has been completed and it is working beautifully! We are in the process of putting it all together to make it work. We are about 60% completed and if no setbacks we should have a beta released on iOS and Android by early September. Thanks for being so awesome and patient! :P

Audio is one of our most desired features to add and we are currently looking into it. We don't have a release date but we are working on it.

Thanks for your feedback. This is currently in our plans.

It's been two years and im using mobile flip a clip. Is audio done yet?

Can you make the sounds option free.

Even though this is easily the most popular feature request, I really don't think it's an important function.

If you are just making fun animations, you can easily incorporate audio by exporting your animation and using something like the free V-Edit app to add a soundtrack. If you want to do more complex stuff: synchronising to audio and perhaps even lipsyncing, then I think it's asking WAY too much of an Andriod app to be an all in one animation production studio.

Apart from anything else, I'm not sure that the audio capability of Android would be sufficient to make it useful in an animation app. I know that there is far too much latency in the Android audio chain to make it useful as an audio recording plarform - without the addition of extra hardware.

As part of a workflow, Flipaclip is a superb animation tool and it's certainly possible to produce animations with audio and lipsync - but you need to use other apps and programmes to acieve the final result. Flipaclip already has the export tools to allow this. I just hope that the addition of audio is not holding back the development and release of other (in my opinion) far more important features.

thing is, if you want to be able to dub correctly, you have t order to and see the timing of the animation to get it just right.

-14

Yes. Traditionally, this was done by scrubbing through the audio and marking on an exposure sheet exactly which frame each sound will fall on. You would then use the exposure sheet when animating as a guide to your timing. Lots of wonderful animation, with very complex audio visual synchronization, have been made this way before the advent of computers!

I do appreciate that it's more convenient (and fun) to be able to drop the audio directly into the project - I'm just pointing out that animators have been successfully synching to audio without this feature for a long time.

-1

how? It's not like I have two devices to do this

+3

While it's true that a lot of artists using Flipaclip could sync the audio, most of the time, they'd need to keep going back into the app to add or delete frames if it's not synced. Sure, animation takes time and effort, but the reason we want the feature is so animating can be easier.

Aside from that, some people can't afford a drawing tablet for their computer, or would rather animate on their mobile device because it's more convenient. Flipaclip is a great application that lets people animate, no matter the purposes.

Still, you're entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I'm just trying to shed some light on why a lot of people, including myself, want to be able to add audio into Flipaclip.

(Also, I know your post was from three months ago but I just wanted to express my opinion)

+3

well the reason I want it is because I want to listen to my audio and THEN draw the animations to go with it

Please I love your app hen is audio coming please reply please

Hello! Adding audio/music is one of our most desired features to add and we have started developing this feature. We are pushing very hard to have it released early this year. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I just want more brushes, and a layer opacity feature.

Can you do like a sound effects built in? That would be better!

Hey everyone, as you know we have the Animate Unravel Contest going on. This contest was the perfect way to introduce the "beta" audio feature on the app. The audio feature is simple but the idea is there for how you would animate with audio. Full audio support will be open in beta state in 2-3 months hopefully. Any feedback so far let us know!

"Any feedback so far let us know!"

Didn't understand that. The Beta is already out?

yikes... just saw this... I was referring to feedback during the contest. When we had the contest we had very limited audio feature enabled.

+1

Will it be implemented for iOS, Android, or both? I'm just wondering, as I'm using iOS...

-8

ok ok i have seen a video in the new flipaclip WITH AUDIO ON IT AND YOU ARE NOT TELLING US

+6

No dude they probably are really good at syncing they haven added it yet

Either that or they entered the contest

+5

is the add audio already up yet ?

if not when will it be ;v; ?

I need it

it will be Available for all devices, I believe--

+6

Any update on the audio stuffs yet? Im so sorry if this sounds like im rushing.

+1

I have a hopeful idea on how to add sound? Maybe put in a link of a specific YouTube video and that audio would be used in the cartoon! :3 good luck!

-1

still no any update from the sounds... Sad

I have noticed it's been about months since this feature was planned for, maybe we can just be patient? Just like in a video game, art apps also take a long time to update.

But it would be nice to have a sound option soon- xD

yahh as we all know that flipaclip is the number animator on android and it will be more great with a sound feature ,no cartoons are fun with out sound it will make the job easier for animators
